Galerie Villa Pellé in Bubeneč has opened a retrospective of Kamil Lhoták (1912–1990) called "Landscape of Dreams". The exhibition runs until 6 December.12
Lhoták is best known for his paintings of early cars, balloons, airships and bicycles set in empty, dreamlike landscapes. The exhibition also gives space to two other parts of his work: printmaking, where he made around seven hundred prints, and illustration, with drawings in more than four hundred books.1
The details
Curator Libor Šteffek follows the artist from his first steps in the 1930s to his work of the 1980s.13
Villa Pellé is an early twentieth-century Art Nouveau villa at Pelléova 10 with a café and garden, a short walk from the Hradčanská metro station.3
