About us

Vltava Morning covers everyday Czechia in plain English: culture, city life, travel, nature and sport. We check every story against its original source and link that source at the bottom of the page.

Vltava Morning is a small English-language newsroom for people who live in Czechia, plan to visit, or simply follow the country from abroad. Our name comes from the river that runs through Prague and from the time of day our briefing goes out: early, short and ready before the first tram.

We read Czech and international reporting every morning, pick the stories that matter for daily life, check the facts against the original source and rewrite them for readers who do not speak Czech. Every article ends with a list of the sources we used, so you can read further.

We leave party politics, elections, crime and conflict to other outlets. Our desks cover culture, the city, travel, nature and food, and sport.

How we report

Each story starts from an identifiable source: an organiser, a museum, a public body, a club or an established news outlet. We check names, dates and figures against that source and rewrite the story in plain English. Every story is laid out in the same order (the news, the details, the numbers, what's next and the sources) so you always know where to look.

Who publishes us

Vltava Morning is published by Northgate Harbor Media LLC, 187 Jefferson St, Atlanta, GA 30353, United States. The newsroom decides what we cover, independently of advertisers.
