Designblok turns to light for its 28th edition
Central Europe's largest design and fashion showcase opens to the public on Wednesday across four main Prague venues.

Designblok, the Prague International Design Festival, starts on Tuesday with a day for professionals and the first half of its talks conference. The public can visit from Wednesday until Sunday, 11 October.1
This year's theme is light. Exhibitions fill the Trade Fair Palace of the National Gallery Prague, the Prague Castle Riding School, the Museum of Decorative Arts and the Industrial Palace at the Exhibition Grounds, which has recently reopened after years of repairs.1

Students on the runway
The fashion shows take place on Saturday in the Industrial Palace. In the twelfth Diploma Selection competition, run with the EUNIC cluster of European cultural institutes, 15 finalists from 11 European schools will show their graduate collections.2
Venues are open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, and until 19:00 on Sunday. The talks, workshops and fashion shows need a separate ticket. Organisers recommend Wednesday for school groups, and the weekend programme includes a light laboratory for children.2
