Ice hockey team HC Oceláři Třinec beat Olomouc 9-0 away on Sunday and set a new Tipsport Extraliga record. They have won all eight of their opening games in regulation time, one more than Litvínov managed at the start of the 2024/25 season.12
Nine different players scored in Olomouc, four of them defencemen. Ondřej Kovařčík and Martin Růžička each had a goal and two assists, and goalkeeper Marek Mazanec kept his second clean sheet of the season.2

Třinec opened with a 2-0 win in Karlovy Vary on 15 September, then beat Kometa Brno 6-5, Plzeň 3-2, Vítkovice 8-2, Liberec 3-1, Kladno 6-4 and Litvínov 3-2 before the win in Olomouc. Litvínov's seven-game run two years ago ended with a 1-3 loss in Pardubice.2
Coach Boris Žabka's team leads the table with 24 points, three ahead of Dynamo Pardubice, who beat Sparta Prague 6-4 in front of 10,022 fans on the same night. Třinec host Mountfield Hradec Králové on Friday, 9 October.23
